OK girls we have all been there, our tummy's are puffy and we feel as though we have a giant donut around our midsection that didn't seem to be there the day before.
Despite all of your healthy eating, exercise and good habits this can still be a regular occurrence.
There are many different reasons as to why you may be bloated, such as too much carbonation or that special time of the month but the most common reason, and probably the cause of your bloating woes is....
wait for it....
NOT ENOUGH WATER!!!!
Look at it this way. If you are not constantly drinking enough water and flushing out your system your body goes into a sort of SURVIVAL mode and will hold on to the water that you do give it because it's not sure when it will get some more again. This in fact causes water retention...
Just as not eating enough or frequently enough your body will hold on to the fat and calories instead of burning them off (metabolism crash) your body will do the same type of thing if it is not getting enough water.
Water is especially important if you are working out frequently (which you should be).
Ideally you should take your body weight, divide it in half and that is how many OUNCES of water you should take in a day. So if you are 150 pounds, you would drink 75 ounces a day. Work up to it gradually throughout the day. Adding an extra few glasses or bottles can make all the difference.
Just try it, what have you got to lose (except for water weight), I think you are going to enjoy the outcome.
